I share an interest in training research (with a particular focus on the motivational influences on transfer of training) and in expertise research (with a particular focus on visual practices and processes). Other research interests include technology enhanced and simulation-based learning environments as well as methods in learning research.
Born in the beautiful city of Deggendorf in Bavaria, Germany, I studied educational science, psychology, and sociology at the University of Regensburg, Germany (diploma 2008). In 2011, I earned my PhD degree at the University of Turku, Finland. Past research positions were at the Technische Universität München, Germany, and Maastricht University, the Netherlands.
Since 2013, I coordinate the Special Interest Group 17 “Methods in Learning Research” of the European Associtation for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) and collaborate in the EARLI Center for Innovative Research (E-CIR) “Maintaining a focus upon learning at work for older employees” (2013-2017).
